This article details the process for downloading and activating your Output Instruments using Output Hub and Native Access 1.
PRO TIP: Use Hub for downloading and installing each Instrument: Only use Native Access to REGISTER and LOCATE each Instrument.
Getting Started
-
Downloads and Installations are handled by Output Hub.
- Output Hub will download, unpack, and organize all of your instrument files in the disk drive location of your choice.
-
Activation is handled by Native Access.
- You will use your serial code for activation.
- If your system is compatible with Native Access 2, please follow the main How To Install Your Instrument Using Output Hub guide
Downloading Your Instrument
- Open Output Hub and log in to your Output account.
- Select Download in the corresponding product tab.
- Select the download location.
- If you are using external storage, we recommend downloading the instrument to your desktop first. Transfer the library folder to your external drive after the download is complete.
- See this article for more on using external storage.
Setting up Native Access and Kontakt
- Download and open Native Access.
- Sign into your Native Instruments Account.
- This is not the same as your Output account.
- Don't have an account yet? Create one here.
- Select the Not Installed section.
- Download Kontakt 7 Player.
- This is the host software used to play our instruments.
- For more information on Kontakt, please refer to What Is Kontakt and Why Do I Need It?
Activating your Instrument
- In the top left-hand corner, click Add a serial
- Paste your instrument's serial code.
- Your serial can be found on the downloads page of your Output account
- Click ADD SERIAL to authenticate your instrument.
Final Installation Steps
Now that your instrument has been activated, the next step is to set the file path within Native Access. This is important for ensuring Native Access recognizes the product is installed.
- Click View Products Not Installed in the bottom right-hand corner.
-
Hover over the Install button to reveal a Magnifying Glass icon.
- (Do not click on Install.)
- Click the Magnifying Glass icon that appears next to the Install button (do not click the Install button as that will download an extra copy of your instrument!)
- Select Browse
- Locate the instrument folder you downloaded from Output Hub
- Select Install
- Afterward, your instrument should appear as Installed with a green checkmark next to it.
- It will also appear in the Installed Products tab
Congratulations!
At this point, your product is fully installed.
Expansion Packs
If you have also purchased expansion packs for your instruments, you can now install them via the Output Hub.

Optimizing your instrument's performance
We recommend performing a Batch Re-Save to improve your instruments’ loading times.
