You can search for samples in 3 ways

  1. Audio only search

  2. Text only search

  3. Audio and text search

Audio only search

  • Choose the song key.

  • Click the orb that says 'CAPTURE YOUR AUDIO'

  • Choose how many bars of audio Co-Producer should capture.

  • 4 bars: Use this option when you are looking for samples that fit within a smaller playback selection.

  • 8 bars: Recommended when available, as your playback selection will have more harmonic and rhythmic content to pull from with an 8 bar capture.

  • Start playback in your DAW.

  • Wait for Co-Producer to capture the selected number of bars.

  • Make sure the playhead begins in the desired location you want

    Co-Producer to analyze.

  • Press Enter/Return or click 'FIND SAMPLES' to search for complementary samples.

Text only search

  • For best results use descriptive details when looking for specific sounds.

  • Writer’s block? Try this structure: Descriptor + Genre + Vibe + Instrument

  • Press Enter/Return or click Find Samples to generate results.

Audio and text search

  • Follow the steps above, but combine both text and an audio capture to guide the results!

Results Page

The Results Page displays sample search results. Each sample row includes playback and context menu controls:

  • Preview Samples: Click the play button to preview a sample. This will play the sample in the selected 'SESSION KEY' and 'SESSION BPM' found on the bottom preview player.

More Info

Samples are tempo sync'd to your DAW BPM, unless 'ORIGINAL BPM' has been manually selected.

In normal operation, Co-Producer will use bar 1 of your session as the starting point for sample previews, then loop them indefinitely throughout your session.

If an audio capture is present, Co-Producer will use bar 1 of the audio capture as the starting point for sample previews.

If looping is active in your DAW, the loop start position becomes bar 1 for sample previews.

  • Sample rating: Selecting the thumbs-up or thumbs down option on each sample helps us improve Co-Producer’s results.

  • Context Menu: Click on the for more options.

    • Show Similar Samples: Generates a new set of results based on the selected sample’s characteristics. Click the X to return to your original search results.

    • Sample Data: This will display the Sample’s original key and tempo for reference.

    • Generate Sampler in Arcade: This will display a helpful modal of how you can further drag and drop samples into Arcade's Kit Generator.

      • Be sure to set the 'SESSION KEY' in Arcade once you generate a kit!

What happens to my analyzed audio?

Co-Producer does not use your audio to train AI generative models. Your audio is uploaded and analyzed in our cloud to provide Co-Producer to you. We may further analyze your audio to ensure search accuracy and to optimize recommendations and analysis in order to enhance product features.

If you prefer not to have your audio used for product improvements, you can opt out in your Output.com account. Opting out also deletes any stored audio files.
