Updates for all Output libraries and expansions are now available which include NKS compatibility with Native Instruments Maschine and Komplete Kontrol. All new purchases since March 7th 2016 have already received these updates with their initial installation. Anyone who purchased before March 7th 2016 can do the following to receive the NKS update:
- Login to Output Hub (Download)
- Click "Download" or "Download Again" next to the library you wish to update
When the window pops up asking you to set a destination, choose your product's containing folder. Do not select or highlight the product's library folder. For instance, if you are updating REV, and your REV folder is in a folder called 'Output', you want to select the 'Output' folder. Do not select or highlight the REV library folder itself.*Don't worry! This won't take as long as you might think. Output Hub will first download some files at the beginning, then scan through what you have already downloaded. At the end of the scanning process, it will download what you are missing. After that, you should be good to go.
After installing the NKS Update, you will also need to reinstall any Expansion Packs, using the same process above. Please see this article for further reference on installing expansions.
When your product is properly updated, you will notice a new 'Legacy' NKI. This legacy NKI file is only there for compatibility purposes - it does not contain any of the updates that were introduced with the NKS rollout on March 7th. Using the legacy NKI is to use the older version of the product. If you find that your version of Kontakt is too old to support the new 'product.nki,' use the legacy NKI.
If you find that your Output engine doesn't immediately show in the Komplete Kontrol/Maschine factory library, close KK/Maschine and do the following:
- Open Kontakt in standalone, remove the library in question (say, REV).
- Close and reopen Kontakt standalone.
- Add REV as a library again. Then close Kontakt standalone.
When you open Maschine or Komplete Kontrol, you will now see your Output library in the factory browser.
