How To Back Up Your Arcade Folder If Needing To Reinstall

Note: This article doesn't apply to users who store their Arcade content on an external hard drive.

In rare cases while troubleshooting a bug, you might need to remove and reinstall Arcade from your system.

The quickest and easiest way to do so is to compress your Arcade folder as a .zip file. This will make a copy of your Arcade folder, compress it as a .zip file, and leave your existing Arcade folder in the right location.

To zip up your Arcade folder, do the following:

1. Navigate to the file location of your Output products folder:

Mac: HD/Library/Application Support/Output

PC: C:/Program Data/Output). Program Data is a hidden folder so make sure to enable the ability to view hidden folders in File Explorer to access it.

2. Right-click on the ‘Arcade’ folder and choose either:

Compress "Arcade" (Mac) or Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder (PC)

To restore your Arcade folder from a zip file, simply delete the existing Arcade folder in the Output directory, then:

Double click (Mac) or Right click and select Extract All (PC)

This will restore all the Custom and Factory Kits you had downloaded at the time of your last backup.
